Michael Krogel

      Woodhaven High School

Michael Krogel has dedicated his life to coaching, spending 40 years as a coach of numerous sports including basketball, golf, football and baseball. The majority of his coaching experience is in the realms of basketball and golf, where his overall record as a head coach stands at 366-192 and over 250 wins, respectively. He has coached many championship teams including 14 League Championships, 9 District Championships, 3 Regional Championships, 1 Final Four appearance and 2 State Qualifying teams. Michael has received multiple Coach of the Year honors and was inducted into the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Hall of Fame in 2006.

     Krogel has demonstrated dedication through his development of the Woodhaven High School Boys Golf Team which he started and coached until his retirement in 2014. This dedication to sport is also shown through his involvement in the BCAM where he served as Regional Director for 10 years.

     Michael is well known for his athletic accolades but perhaps even more so for his mentoring and education of young men; both in sport and life. He is always working for the betterment of his students and truly instills sportsmanship and competitiveness in those around him. He believes in the integrity of sport and has exemplified integrity throughout his career both on and of the playing surface.
