2016 NHSACA Spring Meeting Minutes

As you all know we have 2 sponsors that need our attention. Fling Golf and Game
Day Wipes both companies are looking for our help. Please touch base with your
athletic director at your school to see if we can get their support. If everyone
contacted a school, yours or others the information you need can be obtained
from Dave Dougherty for your presentation.
New Sponsors are also needed desperately if you have a contact please follow up
on it and Dave will assist you in any way he can.
The executive board is meeting in Fargo ND on December 5th and 6th. Please
watch your e-mail shortly after for the minutes.
The next executive board meeting is tentatively set for March 20th and 21st in
Louisville, KY , the site of this years Convention.
This years Convention will be open for registration in January 2016 on line.
Please, everyone on the Board of Directors register in January, as you all know
the income is needed to help our operating costs.
Sports chairs, now is the time to find a sponsor for your sport. $2,500 is the
going rate and we do need as many sponsors as possible. Please make a call to a
local business that has shown interest in your sport or a friend that might be
I personally would like to thank all of you for your vote of confidence in my
recent election to 3rd VP. I also want to express my personal sadness at the
loss of Rich Thompkins. He was a great representative of us all and he welcomed
me in the beginning of my service. We will miss you Rich!!!
Finally the following positions on the Board have been filled. Sports
chairs:Boys Cross Country - Fred Finke (Longwood, Florida), Special Sports -
James Caliendo (Orland Hills, Illinois) ,Tennis - Michael Kypriss (Cooper City,
Florida)We are still looking for someone to fill golf.

selection of NHSACA Coach of the Year will be announced at their Annual Meeting

2015 Michigan Inductees into NHSACA Hall of Fame
John Knuth from Marysville and Ron Schultheiss from
Charlotte were selected by the MHSCA Board of Directors to be inducted into the
NHSACA Hall of Fame at the Annual Meeting in Rochester, MN. The actual induction will happen at a banquet
on Friday, June 19, 2015. John was a
long time and very successful volleyball coach at Marysville, along with some
other sports. He was later the athletic
director at Croswell-Lexington HS for several years. Ron was a long time cross country, wrestling
and track coach at Charlotte HS as well as serving as their AD for many
years. Additionally he was very active
in his coaching associations both locally and statewide. Both of the above coaches also were very
active within their communities.
Congratulations to both of these outstanding coaches.
